St. Ann’s Academy offers an excellent academic program with a variety of courses and areas of specialized study to develop innovation and creativity in our students. The Academy has a strong reputation for community and academic greatness. Students at St. Ann’s Academy are put on a path to post-secondary achievement and academic success with admissions to universities and colleges in Canada, the USA, and throughout the world.

St. Ann’s Academy aims to provide an enriching academic program to its students while nurturing their spiritual growth and encouraging them to become responsible global citizens. We value the diversity and perspective our international students bring to our school. We believe that international students enrich our community. Bringing together people from multiple cultures into one classroom creates a positive and productive learning experience for everyone in our community.

International students will have a positive “once in a lifetime” cultural experience and come away with the knowledge, confidence and motivation required to excel in a global society. We look forward to welcoming, in person, our international students for the upcoming school year.

St. Ann’s Academy accepts applications directly from interested families and also works with recruitment agents to ensure successful placements into our program.

HOMESTAY

Our homestay program offers students the opportunity to live in a Canadian home and experience life with a Canadian family. Homestay students are provided with three full-balanced meals per day. In addition, accommodations are fully furnished with a separate bedroom containing a bed, dresser, closet, workstation, good lighting, clean towels and linen, and access to laundry facilities.  St. Ann’s Academy believes that the most effective way to learn English is through total immersion, therefore students are encouraged to partake in the host family’s outings, and traditions.

The assistance of homestay families allows students to concentrate on their studies, knowing that their daily needs are taken care of. Homestays offer a priceless, genuine experience of Canadian culture and the chance to enhance English language abilities. Consequently, students are able to integrate into Canadian society with ease and confidence.

The host families at St. Ann’s Academy are Canadian residents from diverse cultural backgrounds. They undergo continuous training to ensure they grasp the significance of creating a nurturing and supportive environment for international students. All potential Homestay Family applicants are required to undergo a criminal record check, a personal interview and a home inspection conducted by the Homestay Coordinator. This process aims to ensure safety, address compatibility concerns and establish a positive and mutually beneficial experience for both the student and the Homestay Family.

The Homestay Coordinator carefully considers the information provided in the application form to determine student placements and strives to accommodate their requests. Additionally, our Homestay Coordinator maintains regular communication with the students at school to ensure their comfort and provide support as they adapt to their new life in Canada.

When choosing our host families we look for:

  • safe, comfortable homes
  • a private bedroom with a window, door, closet, bed, dresser and a desk for studying
  • proximity to the school bus
  • active families willing to share our Canadian culture and their family life
  • ability to provide healthy well-balanced meals and snacks
  • willingness to provide emotional support in a caring environment
  • ability to provide transportation
  • computer and wireless access

A safe place to live and study, a great academic program, and many opportunities to have fun outside of the classroom—this is what you will experience as a Crusader.
